Terms
Last updated 21 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Rabbitproof (ABN 53 752 373 218). By creating an account you agree to them.
What Rabbitproof does
Rabbitproof is a service that helps protect websites from spam and automated bots. It comes as three products: the WordPress Plugin, Bot and Spam Protection and Bot Management. Each product's pricing information sets out what it includes.
Who can use it
- Rabbitproof is not available to businesses based in, or for websites aimed at people in, the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, the United Kingdom or Switzerland.
- You may only add a website you run, or that you have the owner's permission to manage. You prove this when you verify the website.
- You must be 18 or older, or have a parent or guardian agree for you.
Your account
- Keep your password and your secret keys private. Anything done with them counts as done by you.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
- One account can hold up to 25 websites. Each website has its own product. Bot and Spam Protection is not for WordPress websites, which use the WordPress Plugin or Bot Management.
Telling your visitors
Rabbitproof collects information from the people who visit your website (see our Privacy Policy). You must tell them in your own privacy policy that you use a service like ours to protect your website, and link to ours. Our Compliance page has a paragraph you can copy.
Data protection
Our Data Processing Agreement, on our Compliance page, is part of these terms. It applies whenever you use Rabbitproof on a website, with no need to sign. If it and these terms differ on how we handle information about your visitors, the Data Processing Agreement wins.
Products and payment
- Each product is charged per website, in Australian dollars, at the prices on its page and in your dashboard, and includes a number of requests each billing period. Each website has its own billing period, from the day its billing started.
- The WordPress Plugin starts straight away, with no payment method needed: its first 5,000 requests are not billed, and checking pauses after them until a payment method is set up. Bot and Spam Protection and Bot Management start once a payment method is set up, and billing starts once the website has used its first 10,000 or 50,000 requests. Each of these happens once for each website address.
- No GST is charged: we are not registered for GST.
- Requests past what a product includes are charged at its extra rate, for the requests counted. There is no limit on extra requests; a budget alert you set is an email only.
- A product is charged in advance at the start of each billing period. Extra requests are charged on the next bill, when you remove a website, or when its product stops.
- You can change a website's product once each billing period. Moving up (Bot and Spam Protection to Bot Management, or the WordPress Plugin to Bot Management on a WordPress website) starts at once, and the days left in the billing period are charged on the next bill. Moving down happens when the billing period ends, or today if you choose: then the new product is charged today, the billing period starts again from today, and the rest of the old period is not refunded.
- You can stop a product at any time; it ends when the billing period ends, and extra requests not yet billed are charged then.
- Removing a website ends its product straight away, and deleting your account ends every product straight away. What is left of a billing period is not refunded. We do not refund part of a billing period.
- If a payment fails, the product keeps running while Stripe tries the card again. If it still cannot be paid, the product stops and nothing is checked.
- Each product has its own pricing information, on its page: WordPress Plugin, Bot and Spam Protection and Bot Management.
- We will tell you at least 30 days before a price goes up.
What we cannot promise
- We do not promise that every bot will be stopped, or that a real person will never be blocked. You can turn blocking off at any time.
- We aim to keep Rabbitproof running at all times, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted. If Rabbitproof cannot be reached, or a website has used all the requests it can use, forms go through without a check, so your website keeps working.
Using it fairly
Do not use Rabbitproof to harm others, to break the law, to test or attack other people's websites, or to copy or take apart how it works. We may pause or close an account that does.
Our responsibility
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer laws that apply to you, such as the Australian Consumer Law. As far as the law allows, Rabbitproof is not responsible for indirect losses (such as lost sales) caused by using Rabbitproof, and our total responsibility to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the last 12 months.
You indemnify Rabbitproof against any loss, damage or claim arising from your breach of these terms, your unlawful or unfair use of Rabbitproof, or claims by your website's visitors or anyone else about your website, including about your own privacy policy.
Ending
You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. That stops all checking on your websites and ends every product straight away. On Bot Management, point your address back at your own server before you delete your account or remove a website, or your website stops opening. We may close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why.
Changes
We may change these terms. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before a change that matters to you.
The law
These terms are governed by Australian law.
